Coty has announced the creation of its new prestige division, Coty Prestige. The division comprises the former Lancaster Group and Unilever Cosmetics International.

Jean Mortier has been appointed senior vice president, commercial to lead the sales organization of Coty Prestige Worldwide.  Mortier comes to Coty through the recent acquisition of Unilever Cosmetics International.  Mortier, based in Europe, reports to Michele Scannavini, president of the Coty Prestige division.

Bob Cankes has been appointed president of Coty Prestige North America, which now encompasses both the Lancaster portfolio and the brands acquired from Unilever, including Calvin Klein, Vera Wang and Cerruti.

To better meet the needs of retailers in a fast changing environment, Coty is creating two prestige sales divisions within the United States. The Prestige Department Stores division will be led by Dominic Pisani, senior vice president, sales.  Sales will be divided into 5 geographic regions. Based on the evolution of its brand portfolio, Coty is also establishing the Specialty Stores division to strengthen its presence in the ultra prestige segment.  This division will service Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Saks 5th Ave., Lord and Taylor and specialty boutiques.  This segment will be led by Dennis Keogh, senior vice president, specialty stores.

Janice Vitale will become senior vice president trade marketing for the US organization.  Vitale was previously vice president, retail development and trade marketing for Unilever Cosmetics.

“Our new organization has been planned and developed to best answer to the evolution of the retail environment. Also, it will give to all our brands the chance to achieve their highest potential with the right treatment and support,” says Michele Scannavini.
